In a recent move towards transparency in pricing, Blumenthal Arts has launched an "all-in" ticket pricing system for its events. Patrons purchasing tickets for shows will now see a total price that includes both the base cost of the ticket and any additional fees, right from the get-go.
This pricing policy began on Friday, and Blumenthal Arts' President and CEO Tom Gabbard explained the rationale behind the change. "Transparency is important," Gabbard emphasized, according to WCNC. "With all-in ticket pricing, we won’t be rounding up any numbers, and there won’t be any surprise fees added to the end of the checkout process." The organization hopes this will make it easier for customers to budget for and enjoy their shows without unexpected costs.
As a result of this new policy, ticket listings such as "tickets start at $29.38" might appear unconventional to those used to seeing prices sans fees. This initiative, according to WBTV, is part of a broader effort to ensure clarity and fairness in the purchasing process. Gabbard told WBTV, that there won't be any surprise fees added to the end of the checkout process.
Blumenthal Arts is also keen to point out the risks associated with purchasing tickets through third-party sellers. These risks include overpaying, buying non-existent seats, and the inability to replace lost or stolen tickets. Additionally, these patrons might not receive crucial updates about the shows such as time changes or notifications regarding construction alerts, Blumenthal Arts' official announcement cautioned.
