The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Sexual Assault Unit announced the arrest of Hector Magana for acts committed against a juvenile. According to a news release from the Ventura County Sheriff's Office, the 24-year-old suspect from Camarillo was taken into custody after allegedly luring a 12-year-old girl from Oxnard via various social media platforms.
Following an investigation that spanned between December 2024 and January 2025, Magana, who used the pseudonym “Damian,” reportedly made contact with the victim. Having groomed her for unknown periods, Magana arranged meet-ups on three separate occasions in the City of Camarillo, where the sexual assaults took place. Reading the media release, it's revealed that prior contact between Magana and the victim was established with intent leading to these heinous acts.
Charges brought forward by the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office include seven felony counts of PC288(a) – Lewd Act Upon a Child. The detectives, apprehending the gravity of such acts, inform that their investigation is far from over. They suspect that Magana may have targeted additional victims who have yet to come forward.
