On April 6, the Carrboro Earth Day Celebration & Open Streets will take over East and West Weaver Street, converting them into a pedestrian paradise from noon to 4 p.m. The car-free streets will become a hub for a range of eco-friendly activities, as per an announcement from the town's website. According to the town's initiative, bringing eco-friendly activities to residents is designed to engage the community in a collective action towards a greener future.
Musical celebrations grace Fridays with the Freight Train Blues series, kicking off May 16 and carrying on through June 6. The homage to blues legend Elizabeth Cotten is set against the backdrop of the Carrboro Town Commons from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., with a lineup that includes musicians across genres. Diana Tuffin is scheduled to enrich patrons with Blues & Jazz, while Conjunto Breve is poised to heat up Salsa night, according to the festivities’ schedule provided on the Town's of Carrboro's website.
