Early risers can participate in an Earth Day themed story time at the Library starting at 10:15 a.m., a precursor to the main festivities, while later in the day, attendees can partake in painting flowerpots and get their hands on complimentary seeds, the details of which were spelled out on the city's website registration is required for the craft, which runs from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Participating booths offer hands-on activities and crafts surrounding water conservation, plant science, meteorology, and geology. Animal lovers will also be treated to an appearance by Carrollton Animal Services and the North Texas Wildlife Center.

According to the City of Carrollton news release, the showstopper of the event might well be the unveiling of recycled material crafted into artistic displays, as part of the annual Recycle Art Contest, where resident students of varying educational backgrounds and institutions, who have till April 11 to sign up, can showcase their creativity while vying for prizes, as further detail can be found on the city's Earth Day page.

For those seeking respite from the celebration's hustle and bustle, a designated sensory-friendly area within the Library will provide a soothing enclave. Coloring sheets, sensory toys, and noise-canceling headphones will be available.
