
A child was airlifted to a hospital following a vehicle collision in Butler, authorities reported yesterday. The Butler City Police Department responded to an accident at the 900 block of West Jefferson Street at approximately 3:30 p.m., where they discovered a young boy had been struck by a vehicle. According to details from CBS News Pittsburgh, the driver involved in the incident remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
The injured child was urgently transported by helicopter to a Pittsburgh area hospital. However, his condition has not been publicly disclosed. Due to the ongoing investigation, the road was closed from Sixth Street to Seventh Street, with drivers advised to seek alternative routes, as per the information provided by Butler city officials.
In a separate account, the Butler Eagle described a significant disturbance at the scene, near an area populated with multiple apartment buildings. "A lady was running up and down the street telling everybody, ‘A child’s been hit, a child’s been hit,’ like the town crier," Kyle Fradenburgh stated, as per Butler Eagle.
Further confirming the incident, WTAE reported that Butler County dispatch confirmed a medical helicopter was dispatched to the scene just before 4 p.m. The specifics of what led to the crash have not been made clear, nor has it been reported if others were injured.
