Clark County is seeking new members for its Rural Alliance Advisory Committee (RAAC). The committee aims to gather input from residents in rural areas to help inform local policy. Individuals living in Commission Districts D, E, or G who have an interest in rural development are encouraged to consider applying, according to the county's announcement.
The available positions are open to community members from designated rural areas, including residential neighborhoods with two or fewer dwelling units per acre, areas with a rural neighborhood preservation overlay, and other rural spaces as outlined in Clark County's Master Plan. The application period will remain open until April 8 at 5 p.m. PT.
The advisory committee, meeting quarterly since its creation last year, acts as a liaison between rural communities and the Board of County Commissioners. Comprising eight members, it includes representatives from the Northwest Area Residents Association and one from each Commission District. New members will be appointed during the Board of County Commissioners' meeting on May 6.
Individuals interested in applying can do so through the official Rural Alliance Advisory Committee website. The application process provides an opportunity to participate in discussions that affect rural areas within the county.
