Wednesday night's calm in Marysville was shattered by two armed robberies that occurred within minutes of each other, according to local authorities. ABC6 News reported the first incident at the Village Pantry Marathon on East 5th Street, where a black male suspect, described as having a thin build and clothed entirely in black, brandished a handgun and demanded cash before fleeing the scene.
Shortly after the initial robbery, it appears the suspect targeted the Certified Oil Marathon on Columbus Avenue. This similarity in the suspect's description and modus operandi led authorities to believe the same individual was responsible for both, as WBNS reported. Notably, no injuries were sustained in either incident. Still, the sudden sequence of events has left the community on edge, and police are appealing for any information that could assist in apprehending the suspect.
The Marysville Police Division intends to resolve these cases and has called upon the public for assistance. Detective Anthony Lollini is the point of contact for anyone who might have been in the vicinity or possess knowledge relevant to the investigation. Information regarding the robberies can be directed to him at 937-645-7300 or by email, as detailed in the reports from Union County Daily Digital.
