The Lorain County Sheriff's Office thanked Elyria Eagles Aerie 431 for their significant donation to the Sheriff’s Mounted Unit. It informed the public via a recent post on their official Facebook page. The local aerie gave a $10,000 check to Sheriff Jack M. Hall during the First Annual Tack Swap Fundraiser held at the Lorain County Fairgrounds this past weekend. This act of philanthropy aims to support law enforcement's use of mounted personnel, which often plays a crucial role in patrols and crowd control scenarios.
Commendations were extended to notable members of the Elyria Eagles, Dan Kalo, the Aerie Secretary; Jeremy Emerine, the Aerie President; and Debbie Williams, the Auxiliary President. In their social media acknowledgment, the Lorain County Sheriff's Office stated, "Your kind donation is truly appreciated, and this contribution will have a lasting impact on the Lorain County Sheriff’s Mounted Unit." This sentiment reflects the high regard local law enforcement holds for community partnerships and the enhanced capabilities such contributions can afford.
The fundraiser event where the check was presented is part of a wider effort to bolster community-police relations and ensure the Mounted Unit has the resources needed for training, equipment, and horse care. The Mounted Unit, which serves as a bridge between the citizens and the officers, relies on such community engagements and financial support to sustain its operations.
