Earlier yesterday, a shooting at a Houston bar left five people injured when a suspect opened fire inside the establishment. At around 2:30 a.m., officers responded to reports of the shooting at The Address Bar and Grill, located in the 3300 block of Raleigh Street, according to Click2Houston. Witnesses reported a chaotic scene as the club was closing, with shots fired, causing patrons to flee for safety.
Investigators, after reviewing surveillance footage, observed the suspect approaching the front doors before firing into the bar. Authorities do not believe specific individuals were targeted, suggesting the shots were fired indiscriminately into the crowd. The suspect was last seen driving away in a white four-door vehicle, wearing black clothing, and their identity remains unknown.
According to KHOU 11, the five victims received immediate first aid from officers at the scene and were transported to local hospitals. Three of the wounded rested in stable condition, while two others were in critical condition. About 30 minutes before the shooting, a fight occurred at the club, and police are investigating whether the altercation and the shooting are related.
“The club was closed, and everybody was coming out, so everybody was just standing up, and then you just hear shots and turn around and see somebody shooting and then, you know, everybody [is] running,” a witness explained to Click2houston.
Amid the chaos, Assistant Chief Luis Menendez-Sierra of HPD told KHOU 11 that the assailant "was just randomly shooting inside the club." The Houston Police Department is now asking the public for any information that could assist in the investigation and potentially lead to an arrest.
