On Monday evening, Jaime Ibarra, 46, from Goleta, found himself in handcuffs after allegedly brandishing a firearm at a food delivery driver in Saticoy, California. According to the official report released by the Ventura County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded to a 9-1-1 call around 9:40 P.M., in the 11000 block of Aster Street. The victim, a 19-year-old male delivery driver from Oxnard, reported that Ibarra had pulled a firearm on him just moments before.

Multiple units were swiftly involved in the chase of Ibarra, including personnel from Headquarters Patrol, Camarillo Patrol, and specialized units such as Unmanned Arial Systems and K-9. While fleeing, which the deputies saw, he discarded a 9mm handgun, which personnel later recovered. Ibarra was successfully located and arrested with the help of the combined efforts of the various units on the scene.

Upon further investigation, authorities executed a probation search at Ibarra's residence, discovering a replica firearm altered to resemble a legitimate weapon. The Ventura County Sheriff's Office stated, "Ibarra was supplementally booked for Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, Possession of a Firearm in Violation of Probation Terms, Carry a Concealed Firearm on a Person, and Removal of Required Markings from an Imitation Firearm."

Ibarra, already entangled with the law for the firearm incident, also was found to have violated a domestic violence restraining order during the episode. With the charges stacking up, he faces an additional violation for Violating a Domestic Violence Restraining Order. Ibarra remains in custody at the Ventura County Pre-Trial Detention Facility, with bail set at $60,000, awaiting future court proceedings.
