In the darkness before dawn on Saturday, Healdsburg streets became the canvas for illicit marks of territory. According to a Facebook post by the Healdsburg Police Department, suspected gang-related graffiti scrawled across the city spurred officers into action. The graffiti consisted of tags known to be associated with local gangs.
Following a tip-off at around 2:30 AM near Terrace Blvd and Alley 6, Healdsburg officers were swiftly dispatched to catch two allegedly vandalizing buildings. The suspects, one adult, and one minor, were found equipped to quickly commit more vandalism, both carrying spray paint cans and seemingly linked to the freshly painted symbols.
The adult, identified as 23-year-old Lucas Elijah Iverson from Willits, now faces multiple charges, among them conspiracy to commit a crime and participation in a criminal street gang. The 17-year-old companion from Windsor, whose name has not been released due to his juvenile status, similarly has been charged. He is set to face the repercussions in the Sonoma County Juvenile Hall.
