A spate of damage ensued after a high-speed hit-and-run crash in L.A.’s San Fernando Valley, leaving at least 10 vehicles in disarray. According to KTLA, the incident occurred late Friday night at around 10:40 p.m. on Columbus Avenue in the North Hills neighborhood.
Upon arriving at the scene, Los Angeles Police Department officers found a multitude of damaged vehicles caused by one white Chevy pickup truck. "Two suspects were seen running from the scene," an LAPD spokesperson said, "They were driving a white Chevy that caused this felony hit-and-run," KTLA reported. An ambulance was dispatched to the scene, nevertheless, it is unclear whether anyone was transported for medical attention.
The collision appeared cataclysmic, with an SUV found perched atop a red sedan—suggesting the sheer force exerted upon impact. Footage of the scene showcased the extensive damage to the parked cars and a crowd of residents seemingly in shock over the trail of vehicular carnage. Officer Charles Miller, in a statement obtained by Daily News, revealed that although no precise descriptions of the suspects were released, they were last seen fleeing on foot.
The Los Angeles Fire Department attended to one individual at the scene, who sustained minor injuries. Details about the cause of the crash or the speed at which the truck was traveling have not yet been assessed. The white pickup has been impounded, and as of Saturday morning, no arrests have been made.
