Residents in the Rio Vista/Pinecrest Villa areas, here's your queue to declutter and ditch your bulky rubbish. Hillsborough County's kicking off their "Fight the Blight" initiative with a week-long cleanup from March 31 to April 4, aiming to spruce up the neighborhood and nix any hazards that come with illegal dump sites and code snafus. Hillsborough County officials stated that residents within specific streets can haul their unwanted items – think furniture, miscellaneous junk, metal, electronics, and tire sets (limit five, non-commercial), right to the curb for pickup.
Don't drag your heels though—items must hit the curb by 5 a.m. on collection days or better yet, the night before. Carving a swath of tidiness along Waters Avenue down to Pine Crest Manor Boulevard, and flanked from Dale Mabry Highway to North Manhattan Avenue, this cleanup's only for locals within these zones. Just make sure you keep yard waste, semi-truck tires, and any noxious chemicals out of the mix, as they're a no-go for this round of rubbish removal.
For once, the tab for this cleanup isn't landing on residents' doorsteps – it's already covered under year-round solid waste assessments charged to homeowners in the area. According to the Hillsborough County's news release, Hillsborough County Code Enforcement's nudging residents to take this chance to dodge potential code violations by getting their properties cleared and squared away.
