
Houston authorities have launched an investigation following the death of a man who suffered a fatal stab wound earlier this week. The incident occurred on a service road of the Katy Freeway around 9:50 p.m. on Monday, according to a report published by the City of Houston.
The victim, whose identity remains to be confirmed by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences, was found by Houston Police Department (HPD) officers responding to the emergency call at a hotel situated at 14833 Katy Freeway. Found by HPD patrol officers providing medical aid, the Houston Fire Department paramedics transported the male to Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital where the man was pronounced dead.
HPD Homicide Division Detectives A. Finlay and B. Stephens are leading the investigation. Witnesses at the scene reported that an argument escalated into a physical altercation between the victim and the suspect, known only as “Alex.” During the confrontation, “Alex” is said to have inflicted the fatal stab wound and then fled on foot, according to the City of Houston.
Described as approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall with a slight build, "Alex" possesses chin-length curly dark and graying hair and a short beard. Living in the vicinity of the crime scene, he is familiar to the local residents. "Alex" is currently being sought after by detectives and is considered a person of interest in this case, as per the city's news release.
The HPD Homicide Division is appealing for public assistance in locating "Alex." Individuals with relevant information are encouraged to contact HPD at 713-308-3600.
