A statement detailed by The Baltimore Sun indicated, “Our primary focus right now is the health and safety of onsite staff and personnel, and the surrounding community, as we begin recovery efforts and work to completely restore the area.” Despite the accident's severity, CSX reassured the public that no danger resulted from the derailment, nor were any waterways affected.
