
Long Beach authorities have launched an investigation after the body of a man likely in his 50s was found washed ashore near Belmont Veterans Memorial Pier on Sunday. The gruesome find occurred around 11:30 a.m. in the vicinity of Ocean Boulevard and 36th Place, KTLA reported. The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office has taken custody of the body to discern the cause of death, which remains under investigation.
Initial observations by the Long Beach Fire Department, as stated in their report, suggest that the death does not appear to be suicide. However, no further details on what may have led to the man's demise are currently available, leaving the community with more questions than answers.
