In a series of raids led by the FBI Houston SWAT team last week, Michael Seery, a Katy man with a prior felony conviction, has been found in possession of over 50 firearms. According to FOX 26 Houston, Seery, along with his wife and children, were prompted to come out of their house during the early morning operation on the 22000 block of Castillo Lakes Dr.

During the initial search of Seery's residence, federal agents were able to quickly to seize 18 assorted firearms. Meanwhile, located less than five miles from Seery's home, at an office belonging to Seery's construction company, additional evidence was obtained, including a 3D printer identified with firearm accessory codes. Neighbors in the area reported the sight of federal agents clad in tactical gear lining the street, as noted by ABC13.

Seery's wife, during an interview, disclosed that her husband had instructed someone to move numerous guns from his office property to their home. Seery's wife further elaborated, "Seery rented a storage unit, and on March 1, 2025, Seery took the guns to the storage unit," as documented in an affidavit associated with the case. The 34 firearms discovered there were in addition to those previously found in Seery's properties, as reported by ABC13.

It's reported that Seery admitted to coercing his wife to not only purchase but also to handle the acquisition and paperwork related to the firearms. Back in 2012, Seery was convicted for possession with the intent to distribute more than a thousand marijuana plants, leading to a 24-month prison sentence followed by five years of supervised release. His prohibited status from gun ownership stems from this previous conviction. "I have truly learned from my mistakes," Seery claimed in a letter to the judge back in 2016, as he requested an early termination of his probation – a request that was eventually granted, as stated by ABC13. The sincerity of Seery's claimed reformation is now in serious question given the recent developments in the case.

The investigation is still ongoing and further details may emerge as the case proceeds through the courts. Seery remains in federal custody charged with the possession of firearms by a felon, and it's uncertain what additional charges he or his associates may face as more evidence comes to light. Seery's wife, when approached by ABC13, chose not to give comments regarding the incident.
