A Lancaster man is in custody following an incident involving pizza theft and an assault in Grand Terrace last week. According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department, 24-year-old Henry Mancillas Gomez was arrested after he allegedly stole a pizza and struck a bystander who tried to intervene on Friday.
The event occurred on Friday evening at a business located at 22320 Barton Road. Deputy Salaz from San Bernardino County's Central Station responded to a report of a fight at the location. The official report detailed how an initial altercation between a customer and the suspect led to a second customer attempting to stop the suspect, who in response punched the Good Samaritan in the face, and made away with the pizza in a black Lexus sedan. The Sheriff's Department has kept the identity of the victims confidential.
Following the incident, an investigation led by Deputy Salaz quickly identified Mancillas-Gomez as the suspect. Subsequently, a warrant was issued and approved for his arrest. The Fontana Police Department located the Lexus at a motel two days later in the City of Fontana. Officials apprehended Mancillas-Gomez without a struggle and booked him at the Central Detention Center, facing charges of felony robbery.
Robbery, as outlined under PC 211, is recognized as a felony in California. Following the apprehension of Mancillas-Gomez, San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner Shannon D. Dicus released a statement confirming that the suspect was held on these serious charges. All questions regarding the case have been directed to Central Station, where Deputy R. Salaz or a representative can be reached at (909) 387-3545, referencing Case No. 122500278.
