The Los Angeles Police Department is currently on the hunt for a driver implicated in a lethal hit-and-run crash that took the life of a young 4-year-old boy in the Crenshaw district. Per CBS News Los Angeles, the tragic incident occurred late Tuesday night when a white Infiniti, moving at excessive speed, veered off Crenshaw Boulevard and into a building near Rodeo Place.

The child was a passenger in the vehicle, and not long after the crash, he was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead. In the chaotic aftermath, the driver fled, leaving behind the damaged vehicle and escaping in another white sedan. Along with the boy, two other passengers, including the child's mother, were injured, suffering from non-life-threatening injuries, as the LAPD's South Traffic Division reports in a public statement.

Authorities have described the suspected driver as a black female, potentially in her 30s. In the wake of this devastating event, the LAPD urges anyone who might have relevant information to step forward. There is currently a reward of up to $50,000 available for community members who provide intel leading to the identification, arrest, and conviction of the offender, as per the city's Hit-and-Run Reward Program Trust Fund.

Those with information are encouraged to get in touch with Detective Moreno of the South Traffic Division at (424) 298-7898. Tips can also be submitted anonymously through the L.A.
