In a commemorative gesture, Deputy Hobson and his partner, K9 Ion, participated in a 3-mile ruck march to recognize the contributions of these working dogs. According to the Larimer County Sheriff's Office, handlers and their canine companions took a moment to reflect on the service these dogs provide to communities and the country.
The event wrapped up with a touching display as handlers carried their K9s for the final quarter mile of the march, showcasing a bond between partners of service. "During the 3-mile ruck march, they reflected on the amazing work of these four-legged heroes," as per Larimer County Sheriff's Office, highlighting the day's activities and the dogs' unwavering service. It's not just about a singular day of honor. K9 units across the nation are instrumental in activities ranging from search and rescue operations to drug detection, they save lives and uphold safety. The Larimer County Sheriff's Office used this occasion to extend gratitude to both the past and present K9 teams for their role in public safety.
