League City will build a new sports complex named after former Mayor Pat Hallisey. The City Council approved the name for the 106-acre "Pat Hallisey Park," previously called Bay Colony Park. Construction at Calder Drive and Ervin Street is set to begin in early 2026, according to the City of League.

The $44 million Capital Improvement Project will renovate the park with new sports facilities. The park will include softball and baseball fields, tennis courts, soccer fields, and twelve pickleball courts. It will be named after Hallisey, who has served as both mayor and a director for the parks departments in League City and Galveston County, as reported by the City of League.

The Chester L. Davis Sportsplex will name two fields after Malcom Daly and Brad Harris in recognition of their contributions to the League City Pony Colt Baseball Organization. Daly also served on the city's 4B Industrial Development Board before his passing from cancer. The future Pat Hallisey Park, expected to be completed in two years, will serve as a venue for amateur athletics and community events, as stated by the City of League.
