Long Beach is set to welcome veterans and service members with a job fair tailored to their needs as they transition into civilian life. The event, a collaboration between the City of Long Beach Economic Development Department and the Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of Veterans Support, will take place on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at the Long Beach Workforce Innovation Network Adult Career Services Center. From 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., participants will have the opportunity to engage with a range of employers, polish their resumes, and practice their interviewing skills.
The job fair not only aims to directly connect attendees with job opportunities but will also provide access to an array of crucial services. Veterans and service members will be able to learn about mental health resources, health care, housing options, and strategies for preventing homelessness. An informative workshop on Veterans Administration home loans has been slotted into the day's schedule. According to the official press release, the fair is designed to support those who've served our country as they seek to find their footing in the civilian job market.
Participation is expected from various Long Beach departments such as the Police and Fire Departments, Human Resources, and Civil Service. Additionally, private entities like Allied Universal will be present. The job fair, free and open to the public, encourages interested parties to RSVP online.
