Macomb County Invites Public to Vote for 'Nonprofit of the Year' Amidst Celebratory Business AwardsSource: Macomb County, Michigan

Community involvement in Macomb County takes a hands-on approach as residents gear up to cast their votes for the 'Nonprofit of the Year,' knitted into the annual Macomb Business Awards. Online voting kicks off March 24 through March 30, beckoning the public to champion one of the 20 nominated organizations making a difference in the county. In its consecutive year, the public vote meshed with judge scores to tip the scales in favor of an extraordinary nonprofit, standing out among the county's benefactors.

The public's voice resonated in the 2024 awards, and the Macomb County Planning and Economic Development (MCPED) is bringing back that chorus of democratic participation. "We launched the nonprofit category and the public vote in 2024 as a way to recognize all of the deserving organizations that contribute to the wellbeing of our community," said Vicky Rowinski, director of MCPED, in a recent release by Macomb County. The vote tallying is once again set to fold into the final judgment of Advancing Macomb's 'Nonprofit of the Year Award', with each participant in the voting permitted one ballet, or in this case, one click affirming their support for the local nonprofit they find most deserving.

This community-centric ceremony will paint the strokes of achievement and dedication on May 15 at the AMC Forum 30 in Sterling Heights. Individuals interested in the event's full palette can purchase tickets from March 31 for $45, which paints over the morning with breakfast opportunities for networking and a front-row seat to recognizing businesses spearheading positive workplace culture and community contributions.

Macomb County doesn't spotlight its contributors through a singular, narrow lens. Additional categories at the Macomb Business Awards simmer with praise for 'Best Place to Work', 'Fueling the Talent Pipeline', and the 'Hidden Gem' among others, celebrating sector-spanning achievements from green practices to innovation in manufacturing. Through applause and recognition, the county etches a narrative of collaboration and prosperity, scribed by the hands of the people living and leading within its borders; the event is sponsored by a network of community pillars, including Consumers Energy, First State Bank, and Macomb/St. Clair Michigan Works!.
