
A 40-year-old Manistee, Michigan man named Leonard Sannes faces serious criminal charges after he reportedly made threats on social media against the Manistee County Sheriff and other county officials. Michigan State Police apprehended Sannes Last Sunday following tips about his disturbing Facebook posts, as reported by CBS News Detroit.
According to CBS News Detroit, those alleged threats included intentions to kill, which prompted police to place Sannes under close surveillance while securing an arrest warrant. He was arrested after he left his home during a traffic stop on Old Maple Road near Preuss Road in Filer Township.
Subsequently, a search warrant executed at Sannes' residence resulted in the discovery of a sawed-off shotgun and ammunition. FOX 2 Detroit reported that these findings led to additional charges against Sannes.
Sannes, who was arraigned on charges including aggravated stalking, use of a computer to commit a crime, and possession of a short-barreled shotgun, was given a bond of $250,000. The mlive reports that he was lodged at the Mason County Jail following his arrest. According to mlive, the accused is scheduled to appear in court again on March 5.
