The Metropolitan Police Department has arrested two individuals in connection with a series of armed carjackings in the District. On Tuesday at 11:54 p.m., the suspects attempted to carjack a driver in the 900 block of 7th Street, Northeast. A successful carjacking occurred the following morning, at 4:53 a.m. in the 3900 block of Fort Lincoln Drive, Northeast, when the suspects threatened the vehicle owner with a handgun.

According to the Metropolitan Police Department release, MPD's aerial surveillance, specifically the Falcon 1 helicopter, helped track the stolen vehicle to a stop near 16th Street and Galen Street, Southeast, where both suspects were apprehended by the Robbery Suppression Unit. The vehicle, stolen items, and a handgun were recovered.

Jamari Robinson, 18, from Southeast D.C., and a 16-year-old juvenile from Northwest D.C., have been charged with two counts of Armed Carjacking (Gun). The investigation is ongoing.
