As the cold snap continues to grip Milwaukee, residents are prepping for a mixed bag of weather conditions in the coming days. According to the National Weather Service, temperatures are slated to slowly climb from a current 25°F, with a chilly wind chill making it feel more like 11°F.
After a chilly start with Northwest winds gusting up to 26 mph this morning, locals can to expect to see the sun push through, warming things up to a high near 39°F. The report indicates that wind will die down to 10 to 15 mph. Looking ahead tonight, clouds will start to roll in, setting the stage for a low around 29°F and a calmer West wind at 5 to 10 mph.
Tomorrow's forecast doesn't offer much respite from the cloud cover, with mostly cloudy skies and a high near 36°F. The winds should take a more northeastern turn in the afternoon while maintaining light speeds. As night falls, clearer skies will emerge, and the area should experience a low near 24°F with gentle Northwest breezes.
Looking to the weekend, sunshine is expected to dominate Saturday, offering a mostly sunny day and a slight jump in temperatures to a high near 41°F. The shift in winds, from Northwest to Southwest, appears to be a harbinger for a warmer Sunday, where temperatures could surge to reach a high near 50°F. With West winds expected to remain steady at 5 to 10 mph, Sunday night will likely remain clear and see lows around 34°F. Monday and Tuesday follow suit with sunny and partly sunny conditions respectively.
However, keep the umbrellas on hand as Wednesday draws near. There's a 30 percent chance of rain, casting a shadow on the steady climb towards warmer days. The skies will be partly sunny with forecasted highs around 44°F, disrupting the recently warming trend.
