Early Tuesday morning, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police and the Clark County Fire Department responded to a blaze at a Tesla service center after multiple cars were reported to have been set on fire; the incident occurred around 2:45 a.m. at the Tesla Collision Center located in the 6000 block of Badura Avenue, near Jones Boulevard and the 215 Beltway, News 3 reported, citing police communication which received information of an individual causing the damage.

No injuries have been reported thus far, however, the extent of property damage at the Tesla repair shop remains to be fully assessed, and the investigation is happening as the surrounding area has been shut down and the police say the closure will last for the next few hours, numerous Tesla vehicles across Oregon and Washington state have faced similar vandalisms, this comes at a time of heightened scrutiny of Tesla's CEO Elon Musk due to his political associations, including a recent Tesla demonstration at the White House in the presence of President Donald Trump, where Trump expressed solidarity with the electric car manufacturer, FOX5 noted, President Trump's comment was direct: "You do it to Tesla and you do it to any company, we’re going to catch you and you’re going to go through hell."

Although the motive behind the Tesla service center incident in Las Vegas is not immediately clear, there are suggestions that it may be linked to a string of protests against Musk's involvement with the Trump administration, given the recent uptick in Tesla related vandalism occurring across the country; at this point, Las Vegas police have not confirmed the political motivation or connection to the nationwide occurrences.

The FBI bureau in Las Vegas has been contacted by FOX5 for insight into whether the incident is under federal investigation, meanwhile, Tesla has been reached out to by News 3 for a comment, but as of the last update made available to the public, the electric car company had yet to provide a statement on the matter.
