For Raleigh's pint-sized sports enthusiasts, there's a new game in town, or rather multiple games. Little All-Star Sports is set to introduce children ages 3 to 5 to the basics of basketball, football, and soccer every Wednesday at the Lake Lynn Community Center. Starting May 14, each session promises to cycle through these sports, creating a fun environment for kids to learn new athletic skills.
The program focuses on building foundational sports abilities in a non-competitive setting, meaning every youngster gets to rapidly build up their skills without the pressure of scoreboard standings. At $40 for residents and a slightly higher fee of $55 for non-residents, the price to make your kid feel like a champion - and possibly to tire them out for a good night's sleep – seems like a fairly decent deal. Sessions will run weekly from 1:30 to 2:15 p.m., according to the details shared through the official City of Raleigh Parks and Recreation news announcement.
Interested parents should consider registering sooner rather than later though, as spaces are likely to fill up fast. If you've ever wanted to watch your toddler dribble down the field or toss a pigskin with clumsy gusto - now's your chance. You can make every Wednesday a day to remember for your little all-star, at least until the season wraps up. More details and registration information are available on the Lake Lynn Community Center's webpage as per the City of Raleigh.
