Oxnard Police officers recently responded to a report of a man passed out in his car. The suspect, identified as 27-year-old Juan Juarez of Oxnard, was discovered asleep at the wheel with the vehicle's engine still running at the corner of Third Street and Hayes Avenue. According to the Oxnard Police Department, the incident unfolded late Sunday afternoon.
Upon making contact with Juarez, it was determined by officers that he had been driving under the influence of drugs. However, a routine search of the vehicle revealed something far more concerning—an unregistered loaded firearm equipped with a high-capacity magazine. As a result, Juarez was taken into custody and faces multiple firearm-related charges. "Juarez was also charged with multiple firearms violations," as detailed in the official news release from the local police department.
The Oxnard Police are now appealing to the public for any further information related to the case or other illegal activities. Community members can confidentially relay tips and information either by calling the department at 805-385-7600 or through their online portal.
