A Palm Coast woman has been sentenced to 16 years in prison for her role in the drug overdose death of a 22-year-old man. Stephanie Raimundo, 49, pleaded no contest to several charges, including manslaughter and trafficking in fentanyl. The sentence was handed down by Judge Dawn Nichols of the Seventh Judicial Circuit and was confirmed by the Flagler County Sheriff's Office, as reported by WFTV.
Raimundo was arrested following an investigation, which began after the body of Calvin Stull was found unresponsive on a bench in Belle Terre Park on January 3, 2024. "This poison peddler is going to prison for manslaughter for selling the fatal dose of poison," Sheriff Rick Staly said, as The News-Journal Online reported. Officials stated that toxicology reports confirmed the presence of heroin and fentanyl in Stull's system, which proved to be lethal.
The Flagler County Sheriff's Office's Major Case Unit conducted a thorough investigation and located the source of the drugs that led to Stull's overdose. According to ClickOrlando, Raimundo, a known drug dealer in the area, was identified as the main suspect. She and another resident of her home, Charles Brockhaus, were arrested after investigators discovered "trafficking amounts of various narcotics" at their residence, including methamphetamine and cocaine.
Alongside the plea of no contest, Raimundo admitted to selling Stull heroin laced with fentanyl, with transactions they conducted reportedly communicated through Facebook Messenger and texts. Raimundo recounted that Stull had visited her to buy drugs on the afternoon before his death. This event would ultimately lead to his demise, and the subsequent 16-year sentence Raimundo will serve, with credit for 449 days already served.
