
The Pennsylvania State Police has recently made several promotions within its ranks, recognizing a group of dedicated officers for their service and commitment. According to an official announcement by Colonel Christopher Paris, Commissioner of the Pennsylvania State Police, the promotion ceremony that took place on Friday honored one major, two captains, eight lieutenants, and one director.
In the ceremony that elevated a slew of personnel, Major Gerard B. McShea, now serving as the director of Bureau of Training and Education, leads the pack, having joined the State Police back in 2003. Following McShea, two newly minted captains were celebrated, with Kevin E. Kulesa taking the helm of the Integrated Technology Division, and Jonathan Sunderlin overseeing Troop K in Philadelphia, both bringing years of experience to their new positions.
Echoing the sentiment of progress, eight lieutenants, including Thomas Falcon, Mark Fisher, Curtis Guntrum, Eric Matiskella, Samantha Lee Minnucci, Michael D. Pavelko, William A. Rowan Jr., and John T. Van Buren have been appointed to diverse leadership roles across the department. Each one has climbed through the ranks with notable diligence and is now tasked with commanding crucial sections within the State Police infrastructure.
Completing the recent sweeping of promotions within the force, Juli C. Bossert, who joined the State Police in 2023, has been ushered into the role of director of Procurement and Supply Division. Embodying new energy, Bossert's promotion reflects the department's continued dedication to adaptability and logistical prowess, ensuring that the State Police's resources are managed with proficiency.
