The newly appointed figureheads include Ronald L. Hovey taking the role of Procurement Commissioner, Nadir Jones as the Director of the newly minted Office of Business Impact and Economic Advancement, and Joseph Brasky stepping in as Public Property Commissioner; Tyrell Brown is set to lead the Philadelphia Office of LGBT Affairs, Patricia Wellenbach will serve as Chief Strategy & Partnership Officer, Andy Toy joins as Director of the Home Appraisal Equity Program in the Philadelphia Department of Planning & Development, and Robin Torrence takes on the role of Director of Pan Hellenic and HBCU Engagement. According to the Facebook post by the mayor, these appointments come as part of a concerted effort to manifest a government with tangible, beneficial impacts on Philadelphia's residents.
In her online statement, Mayor Parker underscored the credentials of the appointees: "They all bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to their roles, and I believe wholeheartedly that they are the right people to help us deliver a government that Philadelphians can see, touch and feel every day." This cadre of leaders is expected to jumpstart initiatives ranging from enhancing local business prosperity to championing the rights and well-being of LGBT residents, to ensuring equity in housing appraisals, all key concerns that the Parker Administration has vowed to address.
