Wake County, North Carolina, has been selected as the new global headquarters for Ralliant Corporation, with Governor Josh Stein extending a warm welcome to the precision technologies company. In a recent announcement from the North Carolina Governor's Office, Stein expressed excitement over the creation of 180 jobs and Ralliant’s $2.1 million investment in the North Hills area of Raleigh.
"North Carolina’s technology hub has attracted another great company to our state,” Governor Stein commented, indicating the potential for Ralliant to tap into an "highly skilled workforce and workforce training systems." The move promises to energize the local economy, positioning Ralliant to evolve as an independent public company post its planned split from Fortive Corporation in the third quarter of this year, as per the Governor's Office announcement.
Tami Newcombe, President and CEO of Ralliant, highlighted Raleigh's strong points, citing "its strong high-tech research presence, top universities, skilled workforce, and proximity to our operating companies" as key influences in the decision to build their future in the area. The sentiment was echoed by Commerce Secretary Lee Lilley, who pointed to the city's "dynamic economy, highly skilled talent pool, and outstanding quality of life." The average salary for the new jobs at Ralliant will notably exceed the county's current average, bringing significant payroll enhancements to the community, as noted by the North Carolina Governor's Office.
This strategic expansion is also seen as a win for the state's economic diversity plan. N.C. Senator Jay Chaudhuri supported this view, stating, “We’re excited to see a sophisticated technology company like Ralliant select Raleigh and Wake County for their world headquarters.” The project is supported by a Job Development Investment Grant (JDIG) and is projected to catalyze an economic growth exceeding $975 million. Of note, because Ralliant chose a Tier 3 county, a portion of the JDIG funds will bolster the Industrial Development Fund – Utility Account, aiding rural communities with essential improvements, as per the North Carolina Governor's Office.
The state's extensive collaboration with Ralliant during the site evaluation process involved partnerships with several local and state organizations, including the North Carolina General Assembly, the North Carolina Community College System, and Raleigh Economic Development, programs of the Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce. N.C. Representative Tim Longest acknowledged the collective effort: "I’d like to thank the many local, regional, and state economic development organizations that worked together to support Ralliant while they evaluated our area," according to the North Carolina Governor's Office announcement.
