The Reno Police Department invites local residents to its 9th annual Symposium on Community and Policing, slated for April 2 at the Reno Town Mall. The event, held from 6 PM to 8 PM, provides a platform for citizens to converse directly with police officers and community figures.
As issues around public safety continue to evolve, these community-oriented discussions aim to foster a deeper understanding and bolster the relationship between law enforcement and the people they serve. Topics on the agenda include improving safety in neighborhoods, scam prevention techniques, immigration, and trust-building initiatives between police and community members.
Announced on the Reno Police Department Facebook page, the symposium represents an effort to respond to current public safety concerns by opening lines of communication. According to the post, some of the discussions at the event will be on "current topics such as: Enhancing public safety in our neighborhoods, protecting yourself from scams, immigration, building and maintaining trust between law enforcement and the community, and more."
The Reno Police Department encourages anyone looking for an opportunity to engage in these important conversations to attend the upcoming symposium. Located at 4001 S. Virginia St, the Reno Town Mall will provide the setting for this community-police engagement. The event is free and open to the public.
