
Charges of attempted murder have been filed against a Spring Hill man following a domestic incident in which he threatened his ex-wife with a power drill and discharged a firearm in her direction. The Hernando County Sheriff's Office reported that the altercation took place on Higgins Street in Spring Hill, as confirmed by WFLA.
According to WTSP, the suspect, identified as 44-year-old Jerimiah Carr, was involved in a verbal confrontation with his ex-wife following a call she received from her new boyfriend, deputies say the argument escalated and Carr brandished a power drill as a threat while in the garage, where his ex-wife armed herself with a knife fearing for her safety, Carr re-entered the house to retrieve a gun which he showed to his ex-wife implying a deadly intent by stating: "I'd kill you if I could get away with it."
Shortly after making the threat, Carr allegedly fired the gun at his ex-wife, narrowly missing her, she promptly fled the residence to seek help. Law enforcement arrived at the scene around 9:14 p.m., where they found Carr who "appeared intoxicated" and was uncooperative with the deputies, as detailed by FOX 13 News.
Carr was subsequently arrested and booked into the Hernando County Detention Center, where he is currently being held without bond, according to the same agency the couple's two children were not present during the incident thankfully not put in harm's way due to their absence.
