Get ready for the Las Vegas Bluegrass Festival on April 12th. From 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Centennial Hills Park, located at 7101 N. Buffalo Drive, will be full of great music and fun.. According to the City of Las Vegas announcement, the event is entirely free, opening its grassy arms to music lovers of all ages.
Festival-goers are encouraged to bring low-back chairs and blankets for a comfortable spot on the park's lawn. However, outside food, alcohol, and pets (except service animals) are not allowed. To help with planning, the city offers an RSVP option for event updates and a free parking map.
In a lineup that reads like a bluegrass aficionado’s dream, Dan Tyminski and his band will headline, taking the stage at 5:30 p.m. Las Vegas City notes Tyminski's accolades, including 14 Grammy Awards and his distinguished voice that channeled a tune-slinging George Clooney in "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" But before the Dan Tyminski Band brings down the house, audiences will be treated to a full day's roster of high-caliber acts like Pitchfork, Heidi & The Guinns, and The Hollerbodies, among others. These bands, poised to showcase the best in bluegrass and Americana, will set the sonic scene from morning until evening.
The festival also features an artisan marketplace with folk art, jewelry, and more. Food options include barbecue, seafood, burgers, and treats, along with drinks, beer, and margaritas. The kids' area will have games, craft projects, and free face painting from 12:30-5 p.m. For details, call 702.229.ARTS (2787) or check the festival's website for updates. Times may vary.
