Residents in the Columbus, Cincinnati, and Wilmington areas can expect a transition to clearer skies and warmer weather after a period of precipitation. The National Weather Service reports low pressure tracking east of the area, leading to dry conditions and increasing sunshine by this afternoon. According to the National Weather Service forecast discussion, clouds will disperse, and temperatures are expected to rise to near 40 in the north and to the upper 40s in the south by the end of the day.
The weekend also promises comfortable weather, with high pressure cementing over the region tonight. "Surface high pressure building into the region by evening," the National Weather Service delineated. The service forecasts lows tonight mainly in the upper 20s, with readings around 30 in urban locations. Tomorrow, Ohioans can look forward to even milder conditions, with near 50 in the north and upper 50s in the south.
The outlook remains optimistic for those thinking ahead to the workweek, with above-normal temperatures and quiet conditions dominating much of the long-term forecast. However, there's a slight chance for showers late Wednesday night and Thursday, mainly for eastern Indiana and northern Kentucky residents. More significant precipitation is anticipated to start Friday night.
Regarding aviation, the skies are also clear for travelers, as the low clouds observed earlier have made way for VFR conditions this afternoon, moving into the night. "North-northwest winds of 10-12 knots to diminish to less than 10 kts," the National Weather Service indicates, ensuring smoother flying conditions. Marginal low-level wind shear might trouble some northern airfields overnight, but no significant weather is expected for flyers in the coming days.
