
The Metropolitan Police Department has made an arrest in connection with a recent assault case in Northeast Washington, D.C. The incident, which involved the use of a wrench as a weapon, occurred last Friday following a car collision, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.
Fifth District officers were called to the scene on the Unit block of N Street, Northeast, at 12:57 p.m. last Friday. It was reported that, after a vehicle accident, the suspect and victim exchanged information when an altercation ensued. The suspect allegedly struck the victim with a wrench before fleeing the area. DC Fire and EMS treated the victim at the scene for non-life-threatening injuries.
With subsequent investigative work leading to a breakthrough, 28-year-old Christopher Brantley of Southeast was apprehended on Thursday. He has been charged with Assault With A Dangerous Weapon (Wrench) and Leaving After Colliding Personal Injury.
