Temecula Police apprehended two suspects linked to a commercial burglary involving $50,000 worth of stolen tools and equipment, as well as a vehicle theft. Marselina Ortiz, 36, and Jason Warner, 43, were detained following a coordinated sting operation that tracked them to a Santa Ana motel, where most of the stolen property was recovered.

According to an incident report by the Riverside County Sheriff's Department, the burglary occurred on Tuesday, March 11, in the 28000 block of Jefferson Avenue. The suspects were traced using a credit card belonging to a victim, which was used to secure a room at the motel. Upon serving a search warrant yesterday, officials located the stolen vehicle in the motel's parking lot, where they spotted Ortiz and Warner leaving a room.

The official statement from Sergeant Chris Mattson detailed that Ortiz faces charges including commercial burglary, possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of stolen property, identity theft, fraudulent use of credit card information, and possession of a controlled substance. Warner's charges are for commercial burglary. Both have been booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center.

The Southwest Sheriff’s Station’s Robbery and Burglary Suppression Team, along with the Special Enforcement Team and Investigations Bureau, played a key role in apprehending the suspects and recovering the property. The successful operation underscores the effectiveness of interdepartmental collaboration in solving such property crimes.
