Cherian Abraham, a 54-year-old man from Allen, Texas, is facing federal charges for alleged sexual abuse during a flight from Chicago to Seattle. He was arrested after the plane landed at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport last Tuesday. The charges were announced by Acting U.S. Attorney Teal Luthy Miller, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.
Abraham was arrested on Sunday and had his first court appearance the next day. A 22-year-old woman sitting next to him on a flight accused him of touching her breast three times. She initially thought the first touch was accidental, but he repeated the action shortly after. After he touched her again, she raised her voice and informed a flight attendant, who moved her to a different seat, as reported by the U.S. Attorney's Office.
Abraham has been charged with federal offenses following reports of unwanted and invasive behavior on an aircraft. The case is still under investigation, with an initial court appearance already completed. Authorities are continuing to monitor the situation, as stated by the U.S. Attorney's Office.
