Leon Bridges and Charley Crockett are teaming up for a co-headlining tour this summer. Called The Crooner & The Cowboy Tour, the tour will feature a mix of R&B and country music across the U.S., with a stop in Houston. According to a CultureMap Houston report, the tour will perform at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in The Woodlands on September 21, and at Austin's Moody Center on September 23.

Bridges and Crockett, coming from different musical backgrounds, have experience sharing the spotlight. They first met while busking on the streets of Dallas over a decade ago and have since established themselves as individual artists. With strong ties to Texas, the tour aims to celebrate their "shared roots, longtime friendship, and the rich musical heritage of Texas," as stated in an official press release obtained by CultureMap Houston. After a sold-out performance at Fort Worth's Dickies Arena last fall, they will feature songs from Bridges' latest album Leon and Crockett's new release "Lonesome Drifter."

Fort Worth-native Bridges, known for his retro-soul sound, is heading into the tour after the release of his fourth studio album "Leon," which came out last October. Crockett, from the Rio Grande Valley and now based in Austin, released his new album "Lonesome Drifter," last Friday, which received a 7.2 rating. In an interview with the Houston Chronicle, Crockett discussed his recent RodeoHouston debut, which sets the stage for the upcoming tour.

Opening acts for the Texas tour stops include Dave Alvin and Jimmie Dale Gilmore, who previously partnered on their 2018 album "Downey to Lubbock." Tickets for the general public will go on sale March 28, at 10 a.m., with a presale starting on March 25. Ensuring that the tour also gives back, $1 from every ticket sold will be channeled into The Big Good, Bridges' charity focused on supporting causes in North Texas — in a partnership with football coach Gary Patterson, the charity aids organizations such as a food bank and a students' group. With over twenty dates from Los Angeles to Toronto, along with several stops in between, The Crooner & The Cowboy Tour will travel across the continent, as per CultureMap Houston.
