
The Maryland State Police have detained three individuals in connection to a disturbing incident involving assault and kidnapping in Harford County. The suspects, identified as Chris Lamar Cochran, 48, Grace Elizabeth Amanda Johnson, 38, and Leland Charles Lewis, 48, from Darlington, are facing serious criminal charges.
According to the official report from Maryland State Police issued yesterday, Cochran is charged with kidnapping, both first and second-degree assault, and false imprisonment. In contrast, Johnson is charged with first and second-degree assault and false imprisonment. Lewis faces charges of false imprisonment, first and second-degree assault, and reckless endangerment.
The harrowing episode unfolded last Monday when a distressing scene was reported on Conowingo Road in Darlington. A man with bound hands was seen running down the road, escaping from his captors. The victim, whose identity remains shielded, was taken to the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center by the Maryland State Police Aviation Command for treatment of his injuries, as detailed in a statement by the Maryland State Police.
Investigative leads brought the authorities to the doorstep of the accused, culminating in their arrest. The Maryland State Police Bel Air Barrack responded to the initial call at around 8:20 a.m., quickly launching an investigation that pointed toward the involvement of Cochran, Johnson, and Lewis in the crime. Cooperation among police departments was pivotal, with contributions from the Harford County Sheriff’s Office, the Maryland State Apprehension Team, and the Baltimore County Police Department.
