Governor Josh Stein announced that Yeadon Fabric Domes, LLC will invest $4.6 million in a new manufacturing facility at the Fayetteville Regional Airport, expected to create 72 jobs in Cumberland County. The facility will include a 72-foot-tall dome within a 50,000-square-foot production site. Yeadon, known for designing air-supported structures used in sports venues and pools worldwide, is expanding its operations to Fayetteville. "Yeadon Domes is thrilled to be expanding our operations to Fayetteville," said CEO Matt Mejia. "We're grateful for the support of Governor Stein, and our many partners throughout North Carolina," Mejia added, according to the Governor's Office.
Yeadon Fabric Domes will open a new facility in Cumberland County, North Carolina, supported by a $225,000 performance-based grant from the One North Carolina Fund, which requires meeting job creation and investment targets with local government participation. The facility will offer jobs with an average annual salary of $47,734, slightly above the county average, with a potential annual payroll impact of $3.4 million. North Carolina Commerce Secretary Lee Lilley said, "Yeadon Fabric Domes will benefit from a friendly business environment, a world-class workforce, and a rewarding lifestyle in Cumberland County, and we believe they will find great success here," as reported by the Governor's Office.
N.C. Senator Val Applewhite and N.C. Representative Diane Wheatley have expressed support for the development. "This is a great win for Cumberland County and the entire state," Wheatley stated, acknowledging contributions from the North Carolina General Assembly, North Carolina Community College System, City of Fayetteville, and the Fayetteville Cumberland County Economic Development Corporation, as stated by the Governor's Office.
