Attention Yolo County residents looking to brush up on your legal know-how: Yolo County Library and Catholic Charities Yolo-Solano are teaming up, once again, to bring you the latest "Know Your Rights!" virtual presentations. These free sessions are set to take place on Tuesday, April 8, and aim to arm you with vital information on legal rights, helpful community resources, and tips on self-advocacy, according to the Yolo County.
The presentations, which are scheduled to start at 6:00 p.m., will be led by Clarence E. Mamaril, a seasoned veteran with over three decades in immigration law, accompanied by DOJ Accredited Representatives from the CCYS Immigration Legal Services Team. One session immediately stands out to offer insights on legal rights and protections, emphasizing a message that should resonate deep: that everyone in the U.S.—regardless of their documented status—is entitled to assert their constitutional rights, as reported by the Yolo County.
Those interested can virtually attend the events via a Zoom Webinar link which guarantees anonymity, as attendee names will not be visible nor will participants have the option to use their cameras. Each presentation will last approximately 30 to 45 minutes and will be concluded with a Q&A session, allowing for direct engagement with the experts, as per the Yolo County.
Yolo County Library offers resources like Red and Yellow Cards, along with "Know Your Rights!" tips at all branches. These tools are available to help you quickly learn and share important rights with others. To attend the event, mark your calendar and join virtually by scanning a QR code or clicking the provided link.
