The Arkansas man charged with the abduction of a pregnant teen from Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, has decided not to contest his extradition. WISN reported that Gary Day, aged 40, stood before a Nebraska court on Thursday, indicating his agreement to be returned to Wisconsin where he faces several charges.

Following his arrest at a truck stop in Nebraska, where he was found with 17-year-old Sophia Franklin, Day initially considered resisting the legal process to be transferred back to Wisconsin. However, captured last week, the accused has now consented to waive his extradition rights, reported jsonline.com. With the teen being found doing laundry by truckers, Day also faces federal charges in his home state of Arkansas.

During the arrest conducted on the night of April 3, Day was charged with misdemeanors for contributing to the delinquency of a minor and for providing false identification. The 17-year-old Franklin, whom Day impregnated, has been missing since February 3rd. With the situation escalating to widespread concern, Amber Alerts were issued across Wisconsin, Arkansas, and Missouri, as detailed by WTMJ.

In Wisconsin, Day faces four felony counts of child enticement and abduction. Meanwhile, in Arkansas, the charge is one count of felony interference with custody. While awaiting the legal process to unfold, Day remains held without bond and is scheduled for a court appearance on April 25 for an extradition review. This comes after he, agreeing to waive his extradition, he's expected to face prosecution in Wisconsin first, a plan confirmed by Dodge County District Attorney Andrea Will in an email, "My understanding is that he will be facing prosecution in Wisconsin first. Although, I am clarifying with the federal court system," she stated to WISN.
