In a bid to strengthen ties with residents and bolster community based policing, the Arlington County Sheriff's Office has extended an open invitation to the people of their jurisdiction. With an aim to foster dialogue and address local concerns, the department is asking for invites to civic association meetings, promising a presence to better listen to and engage with the citizens they serve.
The outreach effort, as announced on the Sheriff's Office Facebook page, includes an email address where associations can extend invitations, encouraging community leaders to involve law enforcement in their neighborhood dialogues. "We’d love to meet you and hear what matters most to your neighborhood," revealed the Sheriff's Office. By fostering such face-to-face conversations, the office hopes to tailor their services to the specific needs and worries of the communities they patrol.
The Sheriff's Office is also promoting their community newsletter, which provides information on local policing activities and upcoming events. Residents are encouraged to subscribe to receive updates on strategies and initiatives related to public safety. This approach combines in-person engagement and digital communication to facilitate information sharing between law enforcement and the community.
