Baltimore's weather patterns are up for a bit of a rollercoaster. The National Weather Service forecasts a gamut of conditions for the coming week, including gusting winds, scattered showers, and the potential for thunderstorms. Residents and visitors alike can expect a mishmash of sun, clouds, and rain. The city will see partly sunny skies with a high nearing 59 degrees and east winds turning southeast in the afternoon, capable of reaching gusts as high as 21 mph.
As evening descends, watch for scattered showers after 2 a.m. and a low hovering around 52 degrees, with southeast winds pushing the envelope at 7 to 11 mph and gusts that could peak at 23 mph. Those eager for a respite from the rain won't find it Thursday. With shower chances coupled with possible thunderstorms unfolding after 5 p.m. and a murky outset with patchy fog lifting before 9 a.m., the temperature could soar to an unseasonably warm high near 80. At the same time, south winds could escalate to 25 mph gusts. The forecast for Thursday night anticipates showers and possibly a thunderstorm, with lows around 63 and gentler southwest winds giving way to calm conditions in the evening.
Looking ahead to Friday, there's a 50% chance of showers, mainly before 2 p.m. skies will remain cloudy, and the temperature is expected to hit a high near 72, with north winds nudging the flags at 3 to 6 mph. The wet weather continues into the night, with a 60% likelihood of showers and thunderstorms before giving way to more certain showers post-11 p.m., slinking toward a low around 55.
Saturday, Baltimore could witness showers mostly wrapping up before 8 a.m., yet under a shroud of mostly cloudy skies and a high near 69. Precipitation potential remains high at 60%. As the weekend advances, the uncertainty of weather hovers, Sunday introducing a chance of rain after 8 a.m. and warmth ascending to near 82 degrees, the night is set to bring a 70% probability of showers, predominantly before 2 a.m., and with the new week, Monday offers partial sun, a high around 64 degrees, and a lingering 30% chance of rainfall.
The city's residents can finally anticipate clearer skies by Tuesday. The promise of mostly sunny conditions and highs hovering near 56 will give Baltimore a respite from the unpredictable and damp climate that lays claim to the city's atmosphere in the earlier days of the week.
