The City of Boulder has extended an invitation to its residents, offering a digital window into the care and enhancement of its open spaces with the launch of its "Enjoy and Protect" project webpage and accompanying web map for the year 2025. These online resources showcase significant projects from the approximately 300 that the Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks department undertakes annually, focusing on areas that were prioritized with the help of community input.
Detailed by the City of Boulder, residents can look forward to several trail and trailhead improvements slated for 2025. Among these, Mount Sanitas will undergo repairs funded by a considerable federal grant, exceeding a million dollars, and backed by the Boulder Open Space Conservancy.
The city will also move forward with construction on the new Shale Trail at Boulder Valley Ranch and undertake rerouting efforts on the Saddle Rock Trail. These endeavors aim to enrich the visitor experience, prevent erosive damage more effectively, and make the trails more accessible, particularly for visitors with disabilities.
To stay informed about current and upcoming trail closures, Boulder's open space enthusiasts are encouraged to visit the OSMPTrails.org page.
