Boulder's Human Relations Fund (HRF) kicks off its latest round of applications today, offering a financial boost to events dedicated to civil rights and diversity that will take place during the second half of 2025. Nonprofits and community groups with a keen eye on equity can apply for a share of the $60,500 pie, aiming to create spaces where understanding and collaboration can flourish among the city's mosaic of communities.
According to the City of Boulder, these funds seek to encourage activities that highlight human rights issues, promote interaction among diverse populations, and offer Marginalized communities opportunities to educate wider society through their events. Coming up at 10 a.m. this chilly Monday morning, the City has set a September 29 deadline for applications, before welcoming the next bunch in October for the following year's early birds.
For organizations looking to make a difference, the HRF has outlined its goal to support initiatives ranging from advocacy to celebration. They believe in the power of community-led efforts that not only bring issues of inequity to the forefront but also sew the seeds of unity and mutual respect amidst Boulder's vibrant tapestry of cultures.
