In a move to honor and spotlight veterans who are continuing to serve their community outside the uniform, Charlotte County Economic Development has kicked off an inaugural "Featured Veteran" series, the initiative is designed to give a platform to those former servicemembers, who are now making impactful contributions to the local economy and society at large.
Their first pick for this quarterly showcase is James Jerome, a U.S. Army veteran who now flexes his leadership muscles in the financial sector as a commercial banker at Crews Bank, he brings a repository of skills such as leadership, service, and commitment, aligning them with the needs of the business circles in Charlotte County, a region that evidently holds veterans in high esteem, touting their presence as an integral part of its growth and prosperity.
"Veterans like James represent the values and strengths we want to highlight through this campaign," Maria Vastola, the Marketing Manager of the Economic Development Office, was quoted in Charlotte County's official news release, underscoring the local sentiment, "Charlotte County is proud to be a place where veterans can thrive."
With this series set to unfurl every three months, it will shed light on veterans who are integrated into an array of fields within Charlotte County; the economic development strategists behind the initiative hope to not only tell the stories of these individuals but also to inspire the community and fellow veterans, showing the multifaceted ways in which those who've served in the military transition can lead and innovate in civilian life, the way James Jerome is demonstrating in his current role, and through his daily endeavors that ripple through the fabric of Charlotte County.
